Wantage will move to allergen friendly menus that are made using ingredients that do not declare any of the 14 UK regulated allergens from September 2027, with transitional menus from September 2026. Menus will remain delicious for all and nutritionally balanced. .

From September 2027, Wantage Dining will not handle any products or ingredients which have an allergy declaration, stating it contains or may contain, any of the 14 regulated allergens. As this a relatively new concept and the first of its type in the UK, we are working through the regulatory and legal processes in terms of being able to use ‘free-from’ declarations as there are very few working examples.

The main risk we are working on, is ensuring our supply chain is suitably robust, and we are exclusively partnering with Sysco to sole supply food to Wantage, the UK’s and the globally, the largest Food Service Supplier. Their scale will help ensure that supply chains are suitably robust with high standards across the board.

Residents of Wantage have, and will continue to have, the freedom to eat at a variety of different outlets.
