Digital Dining

What is Digital Dining?

Digital Dining is a major University I.T project that is replacing a number of core catering systems across our campuses (Whiteknights, London Road, TVSP, and Greenlands).

Why make this change?

We are implementing new systems that will deliver better technology to meet the expectations of students, staff and visitors that use our venues. We hope you will benefit from these improved services and look forward to upgrading your campus experience.

Behind the scenes our teams will benefit from processes becoming more streamlined, connected and automated reducing administrative burden and letting them better serve the University community.

Changes to Campus Card payments

Certain venues on campus will no longer accept Campus Card payments from 31 July.

Campus Card payments are being phased out at Campus Commerce-run venues, with outlets unable to guarantee that they will accept payment using Campus Card funds after 31 July. After this point, the number of outlets accepting Campus Card payments will begin to be reduced, with no Campus Card payments accepted at any Campus Commerce Venue after the end of December.

The following venues will no longer accept Campus Card payments:

Agriculture Café

Breakfast Box

Café No 1

Dol.che Vita

Enterprise Café

Greenlands Food and Drink Services

Henley Business School Café

Library Café

Park Eat

Park House

Eat at the Square

St. Patrick’s Dining Hall

The Dairy

Trilobite Café

Wantage Dining

Colleagues who mostly use Campus Cards to pay for food and drink at these venues are advised to spend any funds loaded onto their cards by the end of July.

Students will continue to use Campus Card to pay for printing and Library charges. People can also use continue to make payments at venues not listed here that accept Campus Card.

Use of Campus Card to access buildings is also unaffected.

Future upgrades

The changes are coming in as part of a wider project to improve the technology that supports the food and drink offering on campus. New tills will be installed over the summer, and the project team is working to ensure that student meal plans will be ready on the new system for the start of the next academic year.

More details about future changes and what they mean for colleagues, students and visitors will follow on the Staff Portal.
