Since our cup tax increased to 50p in September 2022, the percentage of hot drinks served in reusable cups has increased from 20% to 60%. This reduced the number of single use cups used on campus during the 2022/23 academic year by approx. 126,000.
This is a positive step in the right direction and demonstrates what can be achieved when the University community works together to change the way we think about the impact our activities have on the environment.Remember when you purchase one of our @UniofReading reusable cups, the first drink is free.
