Accommodation at the University of Reading

Thank you for booking to stay at Park Group Halls at the University of Reading while enjoying the Reading Festival. Here is some important information about your stay.

Accommodation

Please note the accommodation you have booked is a Halls of Residence small double premium en-suite room situated within the Park Group on the Whiteknights campus. Each bedroom has a 4 ft wide bed, set for double occupancy as shown below.

Your room will be one of an eight or ten bedroom flat each containing a shared self-catered kitchen/diner, which you can share with other festival ‘flatmates’

The shared self-catered kitchen comes equipped with a toaster, kettle (tea/coffee, sugar & mugs provided), microwave and fridge – please note NO kitchen utensils/crockery are provided

Arrival

Please note Key collection is from Park Group Reception (Windsor Hall) from 10am-5pm

Arrival: For guests, who have not stayed with us before, please note that Park Group Reception is located on the ground floor of Windsor Hall – please consult the map

The reception team will direct you to your accommodation block

Check In

10am onwards

Out of hour’s arrivals – a buzzer is available outside of reception for late arrivals. Please use the hotline buzzer or call 0800 029 1984, which will put you through to a member of the team who will give you your room key

Internet Access

Fast free Wi-Fi is available in all halls.  In order to connect you will need to scan for available Wi-Fi networks and select Glide from the list. Once the Glide network is selected you will need to open a web browser, you should be re-directed to the Glide Welcome screen.  Click get started.  For the free broadband product click register, you will be automatically re-directed to a registration page.  Complete all fields and choose a memorable username and password, once registration is successful a confirmation screen will be displayed and you will be logged in automatically.  You will also receive an email confirming your username.  Should you experience any problems please get in touch with Glide directly on 0333 123 0115 and they will be able to help.

Eat & Drink

Convenience store, The Co-op, open 7 days a week: 9am-7pm Monday – Friday, 10am-6pm Saturday & 11am-4pm Sunday

Park Eat & Bar, open 7 days a week: Bar 10am-10:30pm Monday – Sunday, Food 8am-10pm Monday – Sunday

Travel to the University and getting to the Festival

Free campus parking is included with your stay. Please download the parking permit above and display within your vehicle, please refer to the campus map for parking locations (Car Park 1a or 2).

For information on traveling to Reading by train, please visit the Great Western Railway website to start planning your journey. To get from the station you will need to take the number 21 bus which stops directly on campus, a single ticket fare will cost approximately £2.00. The 21-bus stand is located next to the RailAir coach stand on Blagrave Street. Reading Train station is approximately 2.5 miles from the Whiteknights campus.
